Occupancy Rating (Bedrooms)

This measure indicates whether a household has fewer or more bedrooms than it is deemed to need, based on a standard calculation. The calculation is based on the bedroom standard, which assigns the minimum number of bedrooms required based on household composition:

One bedroom is needed for:
Each married/cohabiting couple.
Each single adult (16+).
Two children under 10 (can share a bedroom).
Two children of the same sex aged 10-15 (can share a bedroom).
Each other person aged 10+ (if not falling into the sharing rules above).

Values are:

-1 or less - Overcrowded or severely overcrowded – The household has at least 1 fewer bedrooms than it needs.
0 - Adequately Occupied – The household has exactly the number of bedrooms it needs.
+1 - Under-occupied – The household has 1 extra bedroom beyond the required standard.
+2 or more - Very Under-occupied  – The household has at least 2 extra bedrooms beyond what is needed.

Planning Applications

New Completions

A table showing the electoral areas that substantially overlap the area defined i.e. at least 5% of their area overlaps the area defined. Details for each of these areas including the percentage of the electoral area in the area defined and the total number of houses built for the entire electoral area. Following the table is a map which shows these electoral areas overlaying the area defined.
